The first Belt and Road Energy Partnership Forum initiated by China’s National Energy Administration opened in Beijing on Dec 18. Bai Shaotong, deputy general manager of Sinomach, was invited to attend the forum and made a speech.
Bai reviewed the efforts made by Sinomach in promoting cooperation in global production capacity, and highlighted its achievements and experience in promoting that in the field of clean energy. He proposed to boost the high quality cooperative development of clean energy under the Belt and Road by giving full play to the company's advantages.
The Belt and Road Energy Partnership (BREP) was created on April 25, 2019, and the Cooperation Principles and Concrete Actions of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership were issued at its establishment ceremony. According to the document, the Belt and Road energy ministerial conferences will be held every other year, and training projects for energy ministers and energy cooperation talent training will be initiated as needed. The BREP will promote policy exchanges and cooperation intention communication among members, build bilateral and multilateral project links and technology exchange platforms, to promote pragmatic cooperation in the energy field.
