The fifth China (Guangzhou) International New Energy, Energy-saving and Intelligent Automobile Exhibition (also known as Green Car China 2020) concluded on July 27 in the Poly World Trade Center Exhibition Hall (PWTC Expo) in Guangzhou, capital city of south China’s Guangdong province.
With a theme of “Tech Storm, Smart City”, the auto expo presented the blueprint of the era of “keep leading the trends of future travel modes” and brought together a total of 200 enterprises from the upstream and downstream industrial chains of new energy and smart cars.
It had an exhibition area of over 50,000 square meters, put more than 400 vehicles on display, and attracted 100,000 visitors and 100 media representatives, and staged ten forums and live events. The auto show displayed new energy vehicles (NEVs) and the latest scientific and technological achievements and innovative trends.
As the company behind the first NEV expo in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) in the post-epidemic era, Sinomach cooperated with its subsidiary China National Machinery Industry International Co to host the auto show, and set a new record for transactions, exhibition scale and the number of exhibitors, promoting the development of the automobile and NEV industries in the GBA as well as auto sales.
The expo also sparked revitalization of related industries such as accommodation, catering, tourism, advertising, design, equipment leasing and transport logistics, injecting vitality into the local economy.
More than 100 new energy and hydrogen vehicles from more than 20 carmakers including NextEV, BYD, BAIC New Energy, Chery New Energy and GAC New Energy, as well as nearly 400 new energy-saving and smart vehicle models from more than 60 automakers including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and Maserati made their debuts in the auto show.
The expo sold 10,328 vehicles with a total turnover of 2.06 billion yuan ($295.4 million), of which 3,245 were NEVs with a transaction value of nearly 700 million yuan ($100.6 million).
The auto show, with the strong support of relevant central departments and the local government, combined the advantages of all parties to organize a number of forums. It invited officials, academicians and experts, representatives of Chinese and foreign automobile companies and professionals to discuss the latest developments and trends of the international new energy intelligent automobile industry and to give in-depth analyses of the development status and problems of the domestic auto industry, aiming at building a technology and information exchange platform.
After five years of development, the expo’s specialization, scale and forum quality are widely recognized by the industry, and the expo has become a professional exhibition with extensive influence in the new energy field in the GBA. Sinomach will continue to give full play to its advantages in the exhibition business to help China’s economic recovery and development.
