The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is expected to play an ever greater role in boosting infrastructure projects and speeding up development in many countries thanks to China's high-quality opening-up and international collaboration.

The initiative has always been development-oriented, and consistent efforts have been made to ensure that it is high-standard, sustainable and people-centered. Sinomach, an active participant of BRI construction, has made great efforts to explore more cooperation with BRI countries.

CNEEC builds an exemplary hydropower plant in Sri Lanka

The Broadlands Hydropower Project, undertaken by Sinomach subsidiary China National Electric Engineering Co Ltd (CNEEC), has received a Taking-Over Certificate (TOC), signifying the smooth delivery of the project that was known for its high demand for construction skills.

It is a river-based project that will harness the hydro potential downstream of the existing Polpitiya Power Station in Sri Lanka. The project has an installed capacity of 35 megawatts, and is expected to generate 126 gigawatt hours of electricity annually.

The project will safeguard the power supply in the central region of Sri Lanka to facilitate the life of local residents. A number of jobs brought about by the project also created social benefits.

YTO tractors on their way to Tajikistan, Serbia, Georgia

Eighteen large-wheeled tractors have been shipped to Tajikistan and 40 to Serbia, and 12 narrow-track tractors have been exported to Georgia. The tractors were produced by Sinomach subsidiary YTO Group Corporation (YTO), which is developing cooperation with the BRI countries.
